Get Rich or Die Tryin'
Released this day in... 2003
Featuring singles such as "In da Club," "21 Questions," and "P.I.M.P.," 50 Cent dropped his now 6x platinum debut record a whole fourteen years ago today. It's astounding how many people grew up on this album, from all different age groups, and how much play it still gets today. A collaboration between 50, Dr. Dre, and Eminem, all of their influences can be felt on this project and combine for some of the best contemporary music made, period.
Get Rich or Die Tryin' was the staple of middle and high school dances in the mid-late 2000's, becoming a major part of popular culture and spawning a major film release of the same title. It sparked the successful career of 50 Cent, who would go on to make the equally successful The Massacre two years later. While 50 has made lots of good music since Get Rich or Die Tryin', some of his most iconic songs and sounds can be found on his initial release.
